text_fieldsKaziranga National Park is a national park that lies partly in Golaghat District and partly in Nagaon District of Assam. It is the oldest park in assam that covers an area of 430 Sq kms along the river Brahmaputra on the North and the Karbi Anglong hills on the South. The National Highway 37 passes through the park area and tea estates, hemmed by table-top tea bushes.
The best season of Kaziranga National Park are between November and April.Elephant ride and Jeep safari are the main attractions here
Kaziranga is said to have the highest density of tigers among protected areas in the world and was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006. The park is home to large breeding populations of elephants, wild water buffallo’s, and swamp deer. Located on the edge of the Eastern Himalaya biodiversity hotspot , the park combines high species diversity and visibility.
The park celebrated its centennial in 2005 after its establishment in 1905 as a reserve forest.
