Mexico City: He is the most obese man alive. The world's most obese man. what brought him again to the headlines is that he has begun medical treatment in Mexico to lose weight.

Chennai: Talk of an aspirational or iconic motorbike in India and the 350cc Enfield Bullet (now Royal Enfield Bullet) chugs straight into our minds.
Today, in the midst of all the midget bikes choking city roads, there is an increasing population of Bullets majestically making their way to the rhythmic exhaust sound of thud, thud, thud, thud, much to the appreciative and longing looks of others.

Boinu was about 21 when she fell in love and decided to get married. It seemed a better option than living with indifferent relatives who gave her shelter after the death of her divorced parents-an alcoholic father and a sick mother.
A lanky girl with a solemn face and raspy voice, Boinu (she uses one name) lived on India's far, eastern edge, in the town of Churachandpur, where the plains meet the hills in one of India's most diverse and conflict-ridden states, Manipur.

In 2008, Arti Chauhan (name changed to protect identity), mother of a 12-year-old girl, a 9-year-old boy and a 6-year old girl, became aware that two pills -- mifepristone and misoprostol -- could induce an abortion, a procedure she considered when she got pregnant when her boy was just a year old.
Chauhan, 28, wife of a daily wager in Rajasthan's Sirohi district, did not want another child so soon.

Cairo: She weighs half a tonne, believe it or not. This Egyptian woman, tipping the scales at about 500 kg, is thought to be the fattest woman alive, media reports said on Sunday.
Only 36, Iman Ahmad Abdulati has not left her home in Alexandria for 25 years and is unable to move from her bed or even roll over because of her enormous size, the Daily Mail reported.

Manassas: From the outside, the single-engine Cessna Caravan that took off from a small airport in Manassas on Monday looked unremarkable. But inside the cockpit, in the right seat, a robot with spindly metal tubes and rods for arms and legs and a claw hand grasping the throttle, was doing the flying. In the left seat, a human pilot tapped commands to his mute colleague using an electronic tablet.

Srinagar: Kashmir's season of pleasure and plenty, the autumn, is here, but alas, the tragedy of the beleaguered valley this year has overshadowed everything that is good about the golden-brown season.
For anyone coming to Kashmir in autumn, nature could just not have been more rewarding.
A verdant countryside, crystal-clear waters in rivers and streams, and fields swaying heavily with grain are visible when pilots of incoming civilian flights announce they are landing at the Srinagar International Airport.

Doctors investigating a mystery rise in virus victims discovered that hipster foodies wanting fresh eggs are keeping chickens at home -- and cuddling them. Medical authorities in the US have issued an urgent plea for owners to show less affection to chickens, warning of the "high risk" of "close contact, such as holding, snuggling, or kissing poultry". I am not making this up.
Much has been written about the sacrifices and hardships of our soldiers. Beginning from the young age, the life in the army uniform gives most of them no family life. Their memories of the life partner, kids and parents end with the occasional home-town visits - not everyone though.
In a post on the 'Humans of Bombay' Facebook page, a Mumbai lawyer has shared the tough realities of being an army wife. Since being shared on September 29, the post has received more than 10,300 shares.

Priyabrat Biswal lives in a small village in Odisha but this hasn't come in the way of his building up a veritable treasure trove of autographed images and letters from the Who's Who of the world - 600 and counting.
How did this 47-year-old, who lives in Olihan, some 60 km from state capital Bhubaneswar, do it? By writing simple, yet touching letters over the last three decades to celebrities from different walks of life.
