Malappuram must be bifurcated, says K.N.A Khader

Kodotty: IUML leader K.N.A Khader has demanded for carving out another district out of Malappuram, citing development reasons.

“There should be three districts, including Malappuram, in the Malabar region,” the IUML leader was addressing at a programme at Kondotty in Malappuram.

"Funds for development are distributed on the basis of the population strength. Fast paced development in the region can be achieved only if more Panchayats and Taluks are allowed,” Khader said.

Malappuram is one of the most populous districts in Kerala with a population of 4.5 million.
